A number webmasters received fake emails about their sites getting penalized by Google. These emails created some confusion about the compliance of the recipients’ websites since these fake emails are very similar to that of Google sends out. Later, Google decides to temporarily suspend sending out this kind of emails to avoid confusion. For now it is safe to assume that any email regarding your sites compliance with Google’s Webmaster Guidelines are just pranks.
