Who would have imagined that a simple card such as Net Cards is something that can store information to be utilized into so many applications? Big things come in small packages – this is the thinking that researchers keep in mind to be able to develop small technologies that provide a huge importance in the industries.
Net cards are examples of smart cards which are used in memory storage and processing applications. The cards involve cryptography and the chips which are embedded on the cards made them possible to be used the in several transactions such as identification, loyalty and access applications.
Several researchers are also finding ways to implement the utilization of the even smaller packaged Embedded computers for identification, tracking and access purposes. This embedded computer can function up to huge distances and in a frequency of 2.4 GHz. This is expected to be implemented in hospitals, airports and schools in the near future.
A PCMCIA Reader on the other hand, is promoted by the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association that does not only focus on memory expansion but also on wireless technology. PCMIA Readers or PC Cards are invented for the purpose of computer memory expansion and feature enhancements of laptops.
